As a Barrister and Solicitor, Tony has gained significant experience in all aspects of General Practice and is a well known Specialist Family Lawyer. Tony in the past has been a partner with Coupe Davidson Sweetman and more recently with McVeagh Fleming. Tony places particular emphasis on negotiated and mediated outcomes, is a fully trained collaborative lawyer and where necessary will represent you in the Family Court.

Casey has been practicing law since 2015 and has gained experience at boutique generalist law firms in the Auckland CBD and Newmarket. Casey joined Sweetman Law in May 2021 and works closely with Sweetman Law’s director Tony Sweetman and Sweetman Law’s legal executive Vicki Tattley.

Casey’s area of practice is broad and includes commercial and residential property transactions and related property matters, business sales and purchases and related commercial matters, leasing matters, estate planning and administration, trust matters, relationship property and employment (for both employees and employers). Casey’s exposure to different practice areas enables her to provide pragmatic advice to clients across most of their legal needs.

On the home front, Casey and her fiancé recently relocated to the North Shore and Casey is excited to be practicing law in her new community. Casey enjoys spending time with friends and eating all the good food that Auckland has to offer. As a recent homeowner, weekend renovation planning and decorating are on her to do list.

Vicki is a qualified Legal Executive who has spent over 6 years working in legal firms.  She works alongside Tony and Casey completing residential sales and purchases, Refinancing, and other matters. Vicki loves the variety of her work, and playing an important part in helping clients to achieve their property ownership goals.  She enjoys the friendly, supportive team environment at Sweetman Law and the opportunities to develop her legal skills.

Vicki is married with three adult children.  For 22 years she has been a Board member of IDFNZ, a charity which supports people with Immune Deficiency, including bone marrow and liver transplant patients.  Along with her family, she loves being on the water, catching a fish or two.  And in winter, you will catch her on the sidelines at North Harbour Hockey cheering on her children.

Gail is a full time PA/Legal Assistant to Casey Brooks and Vicki Tattley who manage the firm’s busy property/conveyancing practice. She has worked as a legal secretary for over 30 years in large legal firms in Auckland CBD, smaller firms on the North Shore, and temping in London. Gail loves her role in helping to achieve the best possible outcome for every client through being friendly, efficient, and straight to the point. She particularly enjoys meeting clients and assisting colleagues.

Gail describes Sweetman Law as a great place to work where everyone works hard, staff get on together and there is always lots of laughter. Born and bred in Devonport Gail has been a sports coach, referee and manager. Not surprisingly, you will find her at weekends supporting her sons at a basketball, rugby or cricket game.

Heather’s role as a full-time PA for Tony Sweetman is full of the variety that she enjoys. Her 30+ years’ experience in the legal industry (UK and NZ) and her friendly, efficient and approachable service are backed up by formal secretarial qualifications. She loves meeting Tony’s many clients and will always be of assistance to get the best outcome for them.

Heather loves being part of the great team at Sweetman Law where no two days are the same, and everyone manages to have a few laughs in the course of their busy schedules. When she’s not at work, Heather enjoys the outdoor life here in NZ. She also goes to Zumba classes where she works off the extra calories gained from her other hobby – baking!

Julia’s work as a Legal Secretary/Receptionist (9am to 2pm) covers a multitude of tasks.  She is originally from London where she gained a BA and MA before working for 5 years as a PA/legal secretary at a law firm in London in the Construction team.  Julia is naturally calm and highly organised which are valuable assets in a busy work environment with strict deadlines and high pressure.  She enjoys the variety and flexibility of her role, the interaction with clients and the ‘amazing’ team of people who work well together whilst also having fun.

Julia loves living on the Hibiscus Coast with its proximity to beautiful beaches and a wonderful community spirit.  While most of her time outside work involves family activities, she also enjoys playing the piano or creating things on the sewing machine.

Diana’s career in Accounting has covered a range of roles from working in a commercial company, to Chartered Accountants and a family business.  She now contracts to several businesses, including Sweetman Law for the last 6 years where she works on Tues and Friday afternoons.  Her services include IRD compliance, GST and payroll.  Diana enjoys the variety of her role at Sweetman Law where no two days are the same,  everyone gets along and the team is a good bunch to socialise with.  She job-shares at Sweetman Law with Karen Crowle.

Diana is married with two adult daughters and two gorgeous grand daughters.  She is keen on walking, trying to keep fit and working in their huge garden.

Karen’s career in Accounting roles with the legal industry spreads over 23 years, during which time she has worked in Auckland and Brisbane. Karen joined Sweetman Law in January 2018 taking up a part-time (Mon, Wed and Thurs) job-sharing role with Diana. Karen enjoys the job-share opportunity and being part of a friendly office environment with great staff. Karen’s duties include being the AML Compliance Officer and managing debtors.

Karen has been married for over 40 years, has 2 adult children and a granddaughter. When not working Karen enjoys travel, walking, reading, and socialising with friends.
